for a wide range of charging environments, including those for
fleets, workplaces, residences, shopping centers, dealerships,
gas stations, smart cities, and more. - To support the different needs of our customers, EV AC chargers
support intelligent load balancing, distributing power across
multiple chargers on the same network. - EV Tech load balancing means more chargers can be installed
on the same site without costly site upgrades.
MEMBERSHIP-LESS CHARGING
Nothing’s worse than pulling up to a charging station, ready to charge, only to realize the station system requires an app or (even worse) a membership to operate. Either you’re stuck while you download the app or set up a new account and billing, or you have to find another charger somewhere else. A station running EV OS requires no memberships or accounts for public charging. Drivers scan the QR code on the device, choose their preferred payment method, and start charging! It’s as simple as that. Input a phone number, and the station will send out an SMS when the vehicle finishes charging.
AUTOMATED PEAK-HOUR PRICING
Depending on your location, energy prices may vary wildly throughout the day. In either of these cases, you can choose to employ our peak hour pricing feature. In the operating system, choose the time and price you want to set for those peak hours. Once you’ve chosen your price and times, EV OS takes it from there. Your chargers will now automatically switch pricing at your predetermined time without you lifting a finger! Alter the time or prices whenever you want.
OCCUPANCY FEE
What do you do when there’s someone in the community who insists on parking at your EV charger for the whole day? While there’s no polite way to force a driver to move, EV OS has an easy feature to solve your lost revenue: occupancy fee. Once a vehicle has reached a full charge, the occupancy fee kicks in. Set the occupancy charge (hourly) and even offer a grace period (15 mins up to 2 hours!) between full charge and the fee kicking in. It’s easy to set everything to suit the needs of your business.
LOAD MANAGEMENT
Not every power grid excels in the EV era. And even if your grid has no problem supporting a few EV chargers, what if you really want to install 10 instead of 4? EV OS provides load balancing for sites that need more chargers. No expensive electrical upgrades are required. The system intelligently distributes power across your chargers, sending that power where it’s needed when it’s needed.
THE BOTTOM LINE
EV OS includes more than just charging station management. Beyond autonomous operations and hands-off translation services, the charging system offers a wide
range of features and solutions. They’re perfect for taking your EV charging solution to the next level!
EV OS: Load Management

EV OS: Load Management
Who needs Load Management at their charging stations?
Destination businesses like hotels, restaurants, rest stops, shops, and cafes have begun to offer electric vehicle charging. In recent years, many have been experiencing the trend where more and more of their customers are driving an electric vehicle (EV). Having a charging station available at such businesses instantly puts them on the map for EV-driving customers. Having more charging stations available is vital to attracting more customers and offering a great customer experience.
When might Load Management be important?
The power panel capacity sets the number of charging stations. It varies based on the location and the power grid capacity. For instance, Alan’s hotel has an electrical power of 160A, which allows him to install four 32A charging stations. Only four because a 32A charging station needs 40A of power allocated. So, it has a 20% safety buffer. If Alan wanted to add more charging stations, he would need to contact his electric utility company for an upgrade. It can take months and a whole lot of money. However, Alan can easily offer more than four charging stations using EV OS Load Management App. And doesn’t have to go through all the hassle of upgrading his power panel capacity. Sounds easy!
How does it really work?
Let’s take a look at Alan’s hotel further. Alan contacted EV Tech and added two more charging stations. Now he has six charging stations on-site, and all six are operational without exceeding the 160A limit. It is possible through smart power allocation of EV Tech chargers through the Load Management App. The Flow When the first EV comes in, it charges with the full power of 32A. As additional EVs connect, the second, third, and fourth EVs continue to charge at full power of 32A. At this point, the system is drawing all available power for charging EVs. When the fifth EV arrives, the Load Management Application starts to kick in, and five EVs need to charge at the same time. The app recalculates the output for each EV and adjusts the power to 26A for each one. This way power usage stays within the limit of the electric panel. EV OS smart management sends the instructions to the EV chargers. Simultaneously, it continues to monitor the consumption rate of each charger. This process ensures compliance and makes any necessary adjustments in real-time. Every EV charges at an optimum level while the total output stays under the limit of 160A. These steps continue when the sixth EV connects to charge, and six EVs are charging at the same time. The output to each EV will be calculated again and dropped to 22A. The Load Management Application continues monitoring the consumption and adjusts the output accordingly as more energy becomes available when other chargers complete energy transfer. The exciting part is when Load Management Application detects that an EV is fully charged and no longer requires power. For example, when the first EV completes charging and leaves, the energy output will be increased from 22A to 26A
across the remaining five charging vehicles.
